The containerized wastewater treatment plant treats wastewater in a biological process. The separation of biomass and water is achieved by membrane technology ensuring an effluent at a very high standard. This plant is not operated using elaborate machinery, but using gravity based procedure. Therefore, significantly lower OPEX will be achieved.
The process with a gravity flow based membrane bioreactor leads to lower operating expenditures as well as lower operation efforts compared to conventional membrane technology. Especially when operating personnel is not specifically trained for membrane plants, this plant type is still suitable for a reliable operation.
The reactor is operated without backwash or chemical treatment of the membranes. The energy demand for the establishment of a cross-flow is also reduced significantly.
Compared to conventional membrane systems this leads to a lower flux, but it is measured up by significantly lower operating expenditures and an increased lifespan of the membranes.
